The very thin square sheet of gold or silver is applied to the rough of the piece of furniture, giving continuity and uniformity within the limits of the leaf itself.
The small folds and the joints with color changes are what make this technique unique.
In the curls of the frames the leaf breaks and tears giving the characteristic unfinished effect in contrast with the brightness of the raw materials that compose it.
To give more range to this technique, it is possible to antiquate its surfaces with walnut glazes, which give ideal shades for combinations with warm cadences.
A transparent glossy lacquer fixes and protects the decorator's work.
